Combining Forms

-cracy
  • Aristocracy (n)- govt. by a privileged order or nobility.
  • Theocracy(n) govt. of country by religious leaders.
  • Autocracy(n) a system of govt. in which one person has complete power.
-logy

This is a combining form indicating science or theoretical study of something.

Examples
  • Psephology (n) - the statistical study of election results and trends.
  • Pseudology (n) - the art or science of lying
  • Aristology (n) - the science or art of living
  • Kidology (n) - the art or practice of making people believe something which is not true.
